Product Description

Over the last few years the NFA market has exploded.  Suppressors are no longer the James Bond fantasy they used to be, and now that more people are realizing you can actually legally own them (in most states), everybody wants one.  This has led to a growing market of DIY suppressor builders across the country that are using everything from oil filters to old flashlights to make suppressors.  As per the NFA regulations, the suppressor you create must be approved first on an ATF Form 1 before you begin collecting parts and drilling holes in baffles and end caps.  Many people sell kits labeled as solvent trap kits and advise that they are legal, however we recommend contacting your attorney and local ATF field office for guidance with these products.

Form 1 Suppressor Marking Requirements
As per the NFA, the suppressor you make must be marked with the information from your Form 1.  You must put your full name as it appears on the form 1 (If you are using a trust you must put the trust name), city and state, model number, caliber, and serial number on the suppressor.  It must be marked no less than .003” deep, and letters must be no smaller than 1/16” of an inch.  We can easily and quickly accommodate this with our industrial laser, giving you clean and crisp markings that exceed ATF requirements.

Laser Engraving Vs. Diamond Drag
There is a large debate on which service is better.  Diamond drag engraving has been around for a long time and is fairly straight forward; you clamp in your tube and use a high speed rotating tool to remove material.  The downside to this is sometimes the clamps can scuff up finishes, and if the tube is coated such as anodizing, the anodizing has a tendency to chip leaving with a less than desirable finish.  Laser engraving excels in marking quality, it will not chip or alter finishes, so if your tube is anodized it is the best way to proceed.  The markings are very clear and since the laser is removing material no clamps need to be used to hold the tube in place so there is less chance of scuffing up the tube.  With most anodized suppressor tubes we can color fill to the point you can hardly even tell the engraving wasn’t done before coating.

We are a full service cerakote shop and we can cerakote the tube after engraving for you with their high temp air dry coating specially made for suppressors.  Our standard color is black, but if you prefer another color we can accommodate that request.  Cerakote high temp coatings are actually the preferred coatings by many  manufacturers of suppressors, so it is actually a recommended way to color and protect your suppressor.

Please include notes about how you want the text laid out on the tube, a diagram is best, but a simple note will do.  If we have any questions about the engraving we will contact you in advance, but the more information you can provide us the better so we can get your order returned to you without delay.  If you have specific font/size specifications this is also the time to mention that or we will go with our default settings/fonts.

Please ship your tube with a copy of your order number so that we may quickly get it engraved and returned to you.  You have already waited long enough for your form 1 to come back, we don’t want to stand in your way.  Return shipping is included in the cost of the service, please contact us if you want it shipped back a different way.  Only ship us your suppressor tube or end cap.  If you send us a completed suppressor bad things will happen!
